The trick with AI Tools like ChatGPT (or Gemini) is to feed it information in a concise and clear manner in order to get the best results. If you just type in ‘I want to create a Online Marketing Strategy’, you will get a generic answer.

So, we want to feed ChatGPT the right information in different steps. We do that by getting it to ask it us questions. So, go to ChatGPT, open a new chat and type in the following command in the prompt:

I want to create an Online Marketing strategy for my business. Ask follow-up questions until you have all the information you need to create an extensive online marketing strategy.

Now, if you copy paste my command in your own ChatGPT account you may get a slightly different result. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to use that as well.

In this example I am the marketer for a small Saas company in the US. We offer Planning Software, mostly targeted toward the manufacturing industry.

And ChatGPT will generate a nifty and clear schedule! Voila, you’ve got the outline of your Online Marketing Strategy.

How to expand your Marketing Strategy with ChatGPT

Now, if you want you can delve even deeper and add more information and options into this strategy. Let’s say for example you want a more detailed schedule for each month of your marketing efforts.

We start with January, I type in:

Again, I myself know more about this customer at first then ChatGPT. So I let this tool ask  me the needed questions. So I type in:

I need a good Buyers Persona. Based on the information above can you ask me follow-up questions in order to create a detailed Buyers Persona?

 The end result is ‘Efficient Evan’ You can use Evan as an inspiration point every time you need to create new copy or content for your marketing.

A complete marketing Strategy from scratch with ChatGPT

Of course you can create a complete marketing strategy with just one command prompt. But you have to give ChatGPT as much information as possible and a clear command on what you want it to do.

So beforehand, make a short list of your company, product, ideal clients, budget, skill, region and anything else you can think of.

This is the example Prompt:

I want you to create an extensive and complete Online Marketing Strategy for me, based on the following information:

– I am the marketing manager for [ your company]

– Our webshop is called: [your webshop]

– We target mainly [your ideal target audience]

– We started in { company start date]
