By the end of this review, you should have a clear understanding of whether Keysearch is the right fit for your online marketing goals.

My own experience with Keysearch

A few months ago, I was searching on Google for the search term: ‘ affordable alternatives to Semrush‘ and came across Keysearch, among others.

Just starting up again as a freelancer after being a permanent employee for a few years, I thought ‘oh, why not’ and signed up for a subscription. For just $17 a month, you can’t completely lose your income on this either.

I did some testing of this tool for my various websites. But I really started to appreciate it when I had to do an SEO Audit for a client. I used Keysearch in combination with Google Search, Analytics and Screaming Frog, among others, to get a picture of where this client’s website was performing well. And where there were areas for improvement.

Especially in terms of analysing competitors’ content, Keysearch proved to be an excellent tool. I found out, together with my usual Keyword Research Strategy, that there were many opportunities for my client to improve its content. And get ahead of the competition. For example, certain blogs and landing pages were of quite poor quality at these competitors. So there were a lot of gains to be made here.

Ok, in all honesty, I worked with Semrush before this as an all-round marketer at a Saas company. And this tool offered just a bit more information and options. But I can imagine that a minimum price of $99 a month is a bit too much if you are just starting out as an Online Entrepreneur. And for that, Keysearch’s low price is again perfect.

So here in this blog article/review, I want to take you through the different options and benefits KeySearch has to offer. It’s a bit of a longread, so sit back, get a coffee or beer and enjoy!

How Keysearch Works

Keyword Research Process

Keysearch simplifies the research process by providing relevant data on various keywords. It does this by collecting information from search engines like Google, analyzing the data, and presenting it in an easy-to-understand format. Some key features of Keysearch’s keyword research process include:

  • Generating keyword ideas from seed keywords
  • Filtering keyword suggestions based on search volume, keyword difficulty, and other metrics
  • Showing related topcis and long-tail keywords for better targeting

Users can also analyze the competition  by getting insights into their competitors’ ranking keywords, domain strength, and other factors that contribute to their success.

Keyword Difficulty Scoring

KeySearch offers you an indication of the monthly search volume and search difficulty (level of competition)

Keysearch calculates a Keyword Difficulty (KD) score for each keyword, making it easier for you to identify opportunities and decide which keywords to target. Keysearch’s KD scoring takes into account several factors, such as:

  • Number of backlinks to ranking pages
  • Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) of the competing websites
  • On-page optimization of the top-ranking pages

The KD score typically ranges from 0 to 100, with lower scores indicating less competition and easier ranking potential for the specific keyword. By focusing on targeting low-competition keywords with high search volume, users can improve their website’s organic traffic and visibility in search engine results.

The advice, especially when you own a small website or niche webshop, is to target high ranking keywords, with low competition.

Conclusion

Who is KeySearch suitable for? If you are a beginning freelance SEO Consultant, have a blog, niche website or webshop or other small online business then this tool is more than perfect.

Especially if you only have no more than 1 or a handful of websites under your belt, you can perfectly use KeySearch to take your SEO and Content to the next level. Especially if you combine it with other Keyword Strategies, as in my earlier work with ChatGPT.

KeySearch’s various options along with its low monthly price mean that I can then highly recommend this tool to you.

However, if you have a large, unlimited budget at your disposal or if you work at a large marketing agency, I would rather recommend alternatives like Semrush or Ahref.

I give KeySearch a rating of 4 stars out 5! ****
